Learn about cancer risks, screenings for women May 6

City of Hope Chicago, in collaboration with the Lake County Health Education Consortium, will host a community educational session on women's cancer risk factors and screenings from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Lake Villa District Library, 140 N. Munn Road, Lindenhurst.

Oncology experts from City of Hope and representatives from YWCA will lead the educational experience, which will be available in both English and Spanish, featuring content about breast, ovarian and cervical cancer risk factors, including family history and environmental factors, genetic testing, risk reduction tips and available screenings.

Informational handouts and gift bags will be provided.

The LCHEC includes representatives from City of Hope Chicago, Vista Health System, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, Equal Hope, the Waukegan Public Library, the Warren-Newport Public Library, the Grayslake Area Public Library and the Lake Villa District Library.
