Apply for Fine Line scholarship by May 1

The Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles has offered adult classes in various arts and crafts for over 40 years. It's a beautiful place to try something new or build on your existing experience of an art form.

While you may know about Fine Line, you may not realize that it offers scholarships to encourage people in the surrounding community to come out and take a class.

The Patricia Ostewig, Memorial Scholarship Program was established in her name after receiving a legacy from her estate. Ostewig was an enthusiastic member of the Fine Line community who taught basketry classes at the Fine Line.

The scholarship aims to encourage and assist artists of all levels in expanding their knowledge and skills through classes at the Fine Line. The scholarship covers the fees for any class at Fine Line and anyone, age 18 or older, is welcome to apply.

Fine Line awards two scholarships each time a new semester begins, which coincides with the publication of their class schedules, printed in April, July and November.

The application process is straightforward and can be found on the Fine Line website at fineline.org/pages/scholarships.

The next deadline to apply is Monday, May 1.
