The Maine South High School Fine Arts Department will present its spring musical, "The Addams Family, a New Musical," by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elise, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 21, 22, 28 and 29; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23. Tickets are $10 for all ages, available at the Maine South Fine Arts website, south.maine207.org/fine-arts, or at the door (cash only). The school is at 1111 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge.

Based on Charles Addams' 1938 creepy and kooky single-panel cartoons for The New Yorker, this musical comedy features well-known characters such as Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Grandma and Lurch.

Along with those familiar faces, audiences will meet some new characters that are a part of an original story about the craziness that ensues when some outsiders come for dinner to the mysterious and spooky Addams family mansion.

Representing the cast, crew, and pit orchestra, "The Addams Family" will be presented by a company of more than 150 Maine South students.

Visit south.maine207.org/fine-arts for details.
