Two longtime Naperville area architects join in practice expansion

Naperville-based Charles Vincent George Architects and Newman Architecture have joined their professional staffs and design portfolio as part of a strategic transitioning of resources and clients initiated by Chuck Newman, founding principal of his 40-year-old eponymous firm.

The alliance unites the talent and resources of two well-established, award-winning architectural and interior design firms to strengthen their collective portfolio, broaden their market sector focus, and expand capabilities under a single entity.

The expanded practice will continue operating under the Charles Vincent George Architects name.

Charles Vincent George Architects (CVG) has practiced in the region for 60 years, founded by Chuck George and now run by President and CEO Bruce George.

"Having worked for Chuck George back in 1978-1979, I knew about his integrity and commitment to his clients. Since that time, my own practice led to serving commercial projects," Newman said. "At the same time, CVG's clients expanded to include both residential projects and commercial projects.

"Newman Architecture often referred inquiries about residential projects to CVG. I knew that the range of experience of each of our staffs would serve our combined clients well," Newman said. "The key for our clients was that they would continue to be working with the same people they had been working with and reap the benefits of the expanded staffing and capabilities of the combined firm."

The expansion will allow Charles Vincent George Architects to add additional services and greater capacity in the commercial sector.

The addition of more talent in business development and commercial and residential interiors will allow the firm to expand in markets in a significant way over the next several years, adding additional skilled professional experience and capacity in the exceptional design and high-end project management clients have come to expect.

Charles Vincent George Architects will continue to serve both the residential market and commercial sectors including retail, banking, office, medical, automotive and recreation, as well as a new focus on religious and education markets brought by the acquisition of the Newman Team.

"Chuck and I have been colleagues for years and we have a level of trust that made this relationship attractive," George said. "In addition to my having respect for Chuck's professional work, we have both been active with Rotary International, and hold similar values regarding giving back to our community.

"I had confidence that our firms would mesh comfortably. I'm excited that our clients will experience a more robust firm with a broad portfolio and efficiencies in administrative costs - which enhances our stability and profitability for the future," George said.
