Students Qualify for Nationals after DECA State Competition

Several students from Maine West and Maine South will compete at nationals following the DECA state competition in Rosemont.

At Maine West, seven students qualified for the national competition.

Mishelle Wiewiora qualified for nationals in two different events including Integrated Marketing Campaign for a Product where she was third in state and Business Services Marketing where she placed fourth in state.

Medina Dizdarevic and Yuliya Kolinkovska were the state champions in Start Up Business Plan.

Mohnish Soni took second place in Community Awareness Project.

Sabrina Bukvarevic, Sofia Cupuro and Mia Thomas were third in Community Giving Project.

At Maine South, four students qualified for the national competition.

Anthony Benbenek and Charlotte King were third in Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making

Anastasia Brow and Tina Paxhia were third in Marketing Management Team Decision Making.

Each of these students are eligible to compete in the DECA National Competition in Orlando, Fla, on April 22-25.

DECA is an international organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and careers.
