Mundelein HS to host 56th Annual Mundelein Jazz Invitational

Student musicians from more than 31 high schools and middle schools will perform at the 56th Annual Mundelein Jazz Invitational Festival on Saturday, March 11 at Mundelein High School.

The event will feature 55 performances between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at four different venues within the high school. Each performer will receive written and audio feedback from the esteemed panel of jazz educators.

Each band will perform for three adjudicators who will judge on tone quality, rhythmic feel, interpretation, and more. After the performance, each band will receive a clinic. Parents and guests are encouraged to stay for the clinic. Awards will be presented to the best student soloists/musicians from each ensemble throughout the day. The awards presentation will be held at 6 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.

The guest artist for this year's festival is the Heritage Jazz Orchestra, performing at 12:40 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.

The public is invited. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Mundelein High School is located at 1350 W. Hawley Street, Mundelein. Guest parking is located on the east side of the high school.
