Carol Stream Elementary District 93 will hold kindergarten registration for the 2023-24 school year virtually on Thursday, Feb. 23.

It will begin at 7 p.m. at www.ccsd93.com/kindergarten.

To enter kindergarten in the fall of 2023, children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023.

All students enrolling in school must be full-time residents in District 93.

Virtual attendees of the kindergarten registration event will be able to complete the first three steps of the five-step registration process that night by submitting initial information, completing a kindergarten questionnaire and viewing a welcome video from their child's school principal that explains kindergarten in District 93.

Attending parents also will learn about steps four and five of the registration process, where they will be emailed official materials to complete online registration and then bring the child's official county birth certificate as well as a current driver's license, state ID, passport/consulate ID, or green card to the school.

District 93's elementary schools are Carol Stream, Cloverdale, Heritage Lakes, Roy DeShane, and Western Trails schools in Carol Stream as well as Elsie Johnson School in Hanover Park.

Residents are invited to visit www.ccsd93.com/map for an interactive map to find out which elementary school their child will attend.

At kindergarten registration, parents of native English speakers and non-native English speakers will have the opportunity to learn more about District 93's Dual Language program.

The Dual Language program teaches lessons to students in both English and Spanish, encouraging them to become bilingual at a young age.

Dual Language program classrooms contain half Spanish-speaking students and half non-native Spanish-speaking students.

More information on Dual Language in District 93 can be found at www.ccsd93.com/duallanguage.
