GLMV, Village of Mundelein welcomes new Padel Clube

The Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Chamber of Commerce, the village of Mundelein and others recently gathered to celebrate (and try their hand) at the opening of the Padel Clube, 939 Tower Road in Mundelein.

The Padel Clube is the Midwest's first destination of this racquet sport. The new athletic facility offers year-round indoor courts, open play, lessons, padel gear, personal training and recovery, food service/beverage, meeting rooms, community programs, and more. Membership is not required.

The idea for Padel Clube began during the pandemic, when the Kalil family left a Chicago winter to visit Portugal.

"In this wonderful country, full of nature and friendly people, we were introduced to padel by two great professionals of the sport," they said.

Padel is similar to platform tennis, a popular racquet sport, and soon became the family's new passion, something they could all enjoy together regardless of athleticism, ability or age.
