Lavelle Law Charities Rallies Community for Successful Food Drive

Despite continually increasing food prices for consumers, suburban residents turned out in force during October in support of the Lavelle Law Food Drive. Boxes were overflowing at many of the 18 collection sites throughout Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Elk Grove and Rolling Meadows when Lavelle Law employees and volunteers picked up the final contributions and delivered them to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry.

In addition to an overwhelming amount of food and other essential items, Lavelle Law Managing Partner Ted McGinn also presented the Food Pantry with a check for $11,380 from donations made by local residents and corporate partners.

"The Lavelle Law Charities Food Drive makes a particular impact this year as we have seen an incredible increase in food pantry appointments. As soon as we get food in, it is headed out the door to a family in need," said Schaumburg Township Supervisor Tim Heneghan. "We appreciate Lavelle Law's dedication to our community and share our deepest gratitude. They are truly making a difference."

The pantry has been serving morr than 800 families each month. Among those on hand for the wrap-up were U.S. Con. Raja Krishnamoorthi and Illinois state Sen. Cristina Castro.

"Despite having held our food drive for more than a decade, I am still overwhelmed each year when I see how our community responds," said McGinn. "We are honored to have the opportunity to help families who need assistance during the holidays and beyond."

Corporate sponsors included Tony's Fresh Market, Clearwater Capital Partners, Britt Industries, Kleen Air, Northwest Insurance and Norman Mechanical.
