The Oaks at Algonquin creates ties with the D300 Foundation

District 300 Foundation trustees Kyle Austin and Diane Magerko attended the grand opening reception at The Oaks at Algonquin Senior Living facility in the spring and were pleasantly impressed by the beautiful property and warm, welcoming staff.

The Oaks facility administrators graciously entertained many community members including a group of District 300 high school students and teachers who accompanied Austin and Magerko on a tour of the common areas and a presentation about the facility and the role they intend to play in the community at large.

As part of their involvement in their new community, The Oaks facility leaders pledged their support of the youth in our schools and they made good on that pledge recently with a generous donation to the District 300 Foundation for Educational Excellence!

Their contribution of $2,500 is more than double what they projected the gift would be back in the spring which is deeply appreciated as this will help fund several innovative grant programs in District 300 classrooms.

The D300 Foundation is thankful for the new neighbor's community outreach and are anticipating great future ties and collaboration.
