Midwest Veterans Closet granted $97,000

Colonel Mike Peck, Chair Illinois veterans advisory council presented Mary Carmody, Director, Midwest Veterans Closet, North Chicago with the announcement of a $97,684.26 Grant from the Illinois Department ofveterans affairs.

There's approximately $1.5 million available for grants in the fall quarter. Those wanting to apply for the grant need only go to the IDVA website, veterans cash lottery and complete the application.

Grants are available for organizations that provide assistance with health insurance, long-term care, PTSD, disability claims assistance, homelessness, and job placement.

Announcement was made at the North Shore Chicago Chapter of the MOAA (military Officers Associaton of America) luncheon at Dover straits on Sunday.
