Festival of the Arts showcases artists, musicians Aug. 6-7

The Adler Arts Center and GLMV Chamber of Commerce have announced the 41st Festival of the Arts, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7, in Cook Park in downtown Libertyville.

The festival is a two-day, juried-fine art fair with live music, food vendors and more than 60 visual artists. Artists open their booths at 9 a.m. both days, with music acts beginning at 11 a.m. and food vendors open by noon. The activities continue until 9 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.

"This is such a fun festival to bring your family. It is free to enter, you have a variety of art to look at and purchase, great live music and several food options," festival committee member Jena Mertz said. "My family attends every year. We came before I was part of (the) festival."

Music acts include Sneezy, Highland Park Pops, Albion West, Greg Woods, Moon Money, Inversion Jazz Band, Blue Buddha and Joyce Renee Walker.

Food vendors include Mamma Mia Pizza, Taco Estilo 312 and Kiki's Cotton Candy Food Truck. The Beer Tent, for ages 21 and older, will be serving a variety of local favorites, including some Mickey Finn's brews.
