Libertyville DAR chapter presents Mission BBQ with Flag Certificate

The Libertyville-based Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, presented its chapter's first Flag Certificate to Evelyn Wagoner, regional community ambassador at Mission BBQ in Gurnee.

The Flag Certificate is presented to an individual or business for the proper use, correct display and patriotic presentation of the U.S. flag.

The chapter members met for a barbecue lunch in their patriotic-themed dining room and participated in Mission BBQ's noon salute to the Stars and Stripes. Every day at noon, everyone at Mission BBQ stands to salute the flag during the playing of the national anthem. Chapter members also supported Honor Flight by purchasing cups.

Mission BBQ also gives back with the help of generous support from their loyal customers and communities. They have donated more than $10 million to national and local charitable organizations.

The Ansel Brainerd Chapter, NSDAR, is celebrating its 45th year. The chapter was organized in September 1977 in Libertyville by 17 members. The chapter has now grown to include more than 175 members. In 2021, the ABC chapter members logged in 7,705 volunteer hours in the communities in which they work and live.
