Mundelein-Vernon Hills Rotary Club awards $20,000 in scholarships

The Rotary Club of Mundelein-Vernon Hills recently awarded $20,000 in scholarships to four Mundelein High School graduating seniors. Scholarships were awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service and financial need.

"I congratulate these students on their academic achievements and their dedication to making our communities a better place," said Brian Olson, the club's scholarship chair. "Each of these talented students embodies Rotary's motto of 'Service Above Self.'"

The 2022 scholarship recipients from Mundelein High School are: Cameron Gilbert; Avery Refka; Addison Salski; and Peter Zakariya.

The Rotary Club of Mundelein-Vernon Hills has awarded more than $285,000 in academic scholarships over the past 11 years to area high school students.

The Rotary Club of Mundelein-Vernon Hills is one of 34,000 Rotary clubs around the world and consists of action-oriented business, professional and community leaders who support important social causes in Lake County and around the world.
