Volunteer to help an adult communicate in English

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley will host a free tutor training workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 13-22, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

The nonprofit organization helps adults read, write, speak, and understand English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors one to one.

Volunteer tutors meet with their students for one hour each week at a time and location that is convenient for both.

Tutors can meet remotely, in-person, or a combination of the two.

If you know English, you can teach English to a Fox Valley resident who wants to learn.

Volunteers do not need to know a second language or have teaching experience to be successful. The program provides material and instruction so any adult can help.

To register for the workshop or for more information, visit www.lvfv.org/become-a-tutor or call/text (630) 584-4428.
