'Spring Ring' handbell concert returns for 28th year May 21

On Saturday, May 21, the handbell musicians of First United Methodist Church present their Spring Ring XXVIII Concert, "Ringing True."

This year's event will return with gusto, favoring favorite tunes of "Ride the Chariot," "Simple Gifts," "Shall We Gather at the River," Handel's "Passacaglia," "Coronation" by Meyerbeer, and more.

The "Ringing True" handbell concert will be 7 to 9 p.m. at the church, 1032 Maple Ave. in Downers Grove.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

Ever popular and respected in the Chicago area, the ensembles have enjoyed annual appearances in the West Towns Chorus Christmas Extravaganza at the Tivoli Theater, and in the Grainger ballroom of Symphony Centre for the Chicago Symphony's Christmas Concert Series.
