Northwestern Mutual - Chicago Expands Frontline Leadership Team

As Northwestern Mutual - Chicago continues to build new client relationships and grow into new markets; it is adding to its leadership team. James Stinson, CLU®, CFP®, a Wealth Management Advisor, has been named Growth and Development Director with the Chicago-based financial planning office of Northwestern Mutual.

"The demand for financial security has never been greater, and our growth is providing us with opportunities to develop the next generation of financial representatives and leaders," said Tom Canale, Managing Director of the Rosemont District Office. "Our goal is to provide financial representatives a wide variety of development opportunities to grow both personally and professionally."

As a Growth and Development Director, Jim takes on a leadership role attracting, selecting, developing and retaining a team of financial representatives. Through coaching and mentoring Jim will work with his team members to define a career path best for them. At the same time, he will continue to build relationships with his clients, helping them realize their most important financial goals.

Stinson joined the network office as a Financial Representative in 2006. In 2008 he began his leadership track and was appointed a College Unit Director. His passion to share the career with others led him to be named a Field Director in 2011, a leadership position he has held until being named a Growth and Development Director in 2016.

A native of Rockford, Stinson received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana.

A firm believer in continuing education, he has earned both the Chartered Life Underwriter ® and Certified Financial Planner™ designations. In 2015 he was appointed to the Advisory Board of Northwestern University School of Professional Studies CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM program.

His commitment to community is reflected in his volunteerism with Reading In Motion, where he serves on the Auxiliary Board. He is also an active supporter of Northwestern Mutual - Chicago's Childhood Cancer Impact philanthropic initiative.

He resides in Park Ridge, with his wife, Nicole.
