Local artists win regional theme song contest

Updating a classic theme for retailer Blain's Farm & Fleet brought new attention to local musicians Brittany Wendel of Streamwood, Illinois, and Kevin Nadolski of Gilberts, Illinois.

The Midwest home improvement retailer launched the Voice of Blain's competition for participants to add a new twist to their theme song. Culminating in a social media vote, the three finalists debuted at Country Jam 2021 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Blain's Farm & Fleet have revealed the song and video on Blain's Farm & Fleet YouTube channel.

"We were thrilled to be announced as the winners on stage," stated Wendel, a Southern Illinois University student who comes with both professional acting and vocal experience.

"A commercial theme was a new musical genre for me to compose," offered Nadolski, an alumnus of the Elmhurst College School of Music. "I was pleased to stretch my skills and create a piece that captured the feel of Blain's Midwestern roots."

Nadolski continues composing and playing in progressive rock and pop styles while producing and engineering for area acts, staying open to alternative music options.

A family event for the brother-in-law and sister-in-law team, the two collaborate and release music.

Brittany Wendel is featured on Spotify with a collection of popular releases composed by her brother-in-law Kevin Nadolski including the latest album "Truth & Lies."
