Jazz Consortium Big Band Moves Show at Palatine's Nellie's to Feb. 6--Schaumburg High School Band Special Guest

The 17-piece Jazz Consortium Big Band, now in its eleventh year as a monthly fixture at Palatine's Durty Nellie's Pub, is moving its February show to the 6th from the 13th, to make way for the Super Bowl. Special guest Schaumburg High School Jazz Ensemble will play from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the Jazz Consortium, which plays until 9 p.m. All ages welcome. Cover begins at 6:30: $10 cash, or $5 for students 17 and under. Seating is limited, so reservations suggested at (847) 358-9150, ext. 2. Nellie's is at 180 N. Smith St., Palatine. In keeping with the latest Cook County health directives, proof of vaccination and masks will be required for all patrons, except when actively eating or drinking.

"I think it's only the second time we've had to move our performance in the 10-plus years we've been playing at Nellie's," observed bandleader Roy Vombrack. "We normally play on the second Sunday every month, but it's hard to compete with the Super Bowl! So just for February, we're moving to the first Sunday at Nellie's, so people don't have to choose between watching us or watching the big game."
