Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers sponsors $5,000 challenge grant to support Feeding Illinois

A matching-grant challenge by the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers supplied nearly 90,000 meals statewide this holiday season.

Lisa Nyuli, a member of the board of managers for the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, recently presented the donation check to Feeding Illinois Executive Director Stephen D. Ericson and Northern Illinois Food Bank Executive Director Julie Yurko. Nyuli is a partner at Ariano Hardy Ritt Nyuli Richmond Lytle & Goettel P.C. in South Elgin.

The chapter's $5,000 grant was designed to attract another $5,000 in contributions.

This challenge exceeded its goal, with donations to Feeding Illinois totaling $11,166.75 for the purchase or more than 89,000 meals for Illinois residents facing hunger and food insecurity.

The Illinois Chapter is the founding chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the nation's leading association of peer-reviewed family-law attorneys.

Through advocacy, seminars and classes in continuing legal education, Fellows of the Illinois Chapter promote professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law.
