Business Networking Group Hosts Ribbon Cutting for the Think Tank

The Arlington Business Group, a networking group comprised of a number of Arlington Heights businesses, recently helped one of their members, The Think Tank, host a ribbon cutting and open house at the business's new location. The Think Tank, the Arlington Heights-based tutoring and test prep company founded in 2016, recently moved to a stunning new facility at 510 West Northwest Highway.

Members of the networking group, including founders Dave Hogaboom of Capital Point Financial Group and David Schwabe of The Schwabe Group of @properties, were joined by Arlington Heights Village Trustee Jim Bertucci and about two dozen others in congratulating The Think Tank founder Matt Miklius, PhD on the opening of the new space.

"It was a pleasure to have so many business leaders and colleagues on hand for this very special event," said Miklius. "We're very proud of our new space and I enjoyed providing a personal look to those who made the time to stop by."

The 3,000 sq. foot facility includes flexible classroom space, soundproofed testing rooms, a homework lounge, and 1-on-1 tutoring space for the 13 tutors on the Think Tank staff. Miklius provided tours and then shared a presentation on The Think Tank's approach and services to those in attendance.

"It's very clear that Matt and his staff have developed a method that is successful, but they do it in a way that makes learning fun and engaging for the students they serve," said Hogaboom.

Miklius noted that students who participate in The Think Tank's ACT test prep series improve test scores by an average of 5 to 7 points.

"We accentuate positives in what we do and focus on working with the students on tasks that build confidence and encourage successful learning behaviors," Miklius said. "This new location is bright, open, and engaging and it creates a space that our students are excited to be in."

Several of those in attendance shared the experience they had in having their children receive tutoring at The Think Tank, identifying a growth in confidence, improved study-skills, increased test scores, which in many cases led to acceptances at targeted universities and a significant increase in scholarship money offered.

"I'm always grateful when parents and students share their success stories, and to have those come from some very respected business leaders in our community certainly made an impression," Miklius said.
