CLC student vaccination rate continues to rise

Nearly 70% of College of Lake County in-person students have submitted proof of vaccination in compliance with the Governor J.B. Pritzker's Sept. 3 Executive Order 2021-22, which applies to all higher education personnel and students in Illinois.

The number has steadily risen from 18% on Aug. 20.

Students who do not submit proof of vaccination must submit weekly COVID-19 test results. Free testing is available at the Grayslake Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays in Room C106.

Students who are not in compliance with either of the two options will still have virtual learning and support options available to them; however, compliance is required to be permitted on campus.

"We do not want to lose any students because of the mandate," said Dr. Sonya Williams, Chief Academic Officer. "We're doing what we can to make it so their education can continue."

Along with the state mandate, CLC has a face mask requirement on campus that has been in place since the beginning of August. Students were also incentivized to receive the vaccine with a $100 check for submitting their vaccination card.

CLC is offering vaccine clinics at all three campuses. For the times and locations, visit the college's coronavirus information and resources page at www.clcillinois.edu.
