Time to donate winter outwear for GLMV's Coat Drive for Vets

With winter around the corner, it's time once again for the second annual Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Coat Drive for Vets.

Join in donating winter coats, jackets, and other seasonal outerwear, which will be provided to local veterans in need and their families through Midwest Veteran's Closet.

"Our coat collection for veterans is an ideal way to show our community support and thank our vets for their amazing service," GLMV President Scott Adams said.

Collection boxes are located at nearly 25 GLMV locations, including village halls, police departments, and various businesses throughout the towns.

The program is being conducted through GLMV Chamber of Commerce, T-Mobile, Great Lakes Credit Union, Wintrust Banks, Shurway Movers, several veterans organizations, businesses, and municipalities.

Donations will be accepted through Nov. 16. All sizes are acceptable.

For a full list of collection locations, visit www.glmvchamber.org/events/details/glmv-2021-veteran-s-coat-drive-301408.

Check with individual locations for specific drop-off times.

"Your leadership and generosity of our communities provided thousands of beautiful weather-appropriate coats to service members, veterans, and their families in 2020," said Mary Carmody of Midwest Veteran's Closet. "We are incredibly grateful."
