Civic engagement series explores 'School Boards: What Do They Do?' Sept. 30

As part of their Civic Engagement Series, the League of Women Voters Aurora Area will host a forum featuring school board representatives from East Aurora Unit District 131, West Aurora Unit District 129, Indian Prairie Unit District 204 and Oswego Unit District 308.

Join four local school board presidents, or their representatives, to learn about the role of the school board in a community: how they supervise the schools under their jurisdiction; their short and long-term goals especially around diversity and equity.

The forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Aurora's Santori Library, 101 S. River St.

The event will also be shown in real-time on the library's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/APLibraryIL.
