Join It's Our Fox River Day cleanup Sept. 18

If you love the Fox River but don't enjoy seeing all the trash along the river, volunteer this weekend to help beautify the area.

Join the Forest Preserve District of Kane County and Friends of the Fox River, for the third annual "It's Our Fox River Day" event on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Fox River cleanup will be held at two locations this year - Glenwood Park Forest Preserve in Batavia and Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve in South Elgin.

Help protect and clean the Fox River, while browsing environmental education exhibits and more. The volunteers will help preserve the Fox River by cleaning up the river, river banks, and trails.

Drinking water, snacks, disposable gloves, and trash bags will be provided.

All volunteers - individuals, groups and organizations - are invited.

To register as a volunteer, visit friendsofthefoxriver.org/fox-river-day-2021/ or email CleaveRobb@kaneforest.com.

Glenwood Park Forest Preserve is located at 1644 S. River St. in Batavia and Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve is located at 35W003 Route 31 in South Elgin.
