Village of Schaumburg, SBA Welcome Signature Gymnastics Academy

Signature Gymnastics Academy (SGA) recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony/open house attended by Schaumburg Mayor Tom Dailly, village Trustees Brian Bieschke and Jamie Clar, Schaumburg Business Association President Lisa Gilbert and more than a hundred young people and their families.

SGA co-founders and owners Elise and Vince Saisi provided a Kona ice truck and a dunk tank, which cooled off attendees and provided light entertainment in the academy parking lot on the hot, sunny Saturday in late June.

During the event, the Saisi's introduced the variety of classes offered at the academy to those in attendance, while children enjoyed open gym time in the 17,000 square foot facility. Young people up to the age of 18 can participate in small group and team gymnastics, ninja/tumbling and competitive cheerleading - with dance coming soon. Customized individual instruction is also available.

The academy was founded due to Elisa's strong passion and impressive background in gymnastics. At the age of two, she began taking gymnastics and competed in USA Gymnastics throughout her childhood. While on the Palatine High School Gymnastics Team, she earned, and still holds, several top-10 records. Prior to opening SGA in late spring, Elise coached for 14 years at the Palatine Park District and at Fremd High School. At Fremd, she began as the assistant coach and then became head coach for five years. Under her leadership, her team placed in the top three at state, three times.

"Throughout my years of experience in gymnastics, the hard work and camaraderie had such a positive impact on my life," Elise said. "I am honored to be part of a child's journey, seeing them nurture relationships that grow out of a shared love for the sport."

SGA is hosting a Parents Night Out on Saturday, July 31 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Children will enjoy an evening of fun and safe activities, freeing up their parents to enjoy an introspective look at the academy while enjoying dinner and drinks. Members and nonmembers are both welcome to attend by registering at signaturegymnastics.com.

All classes have a rolling enrollment, so registration is always open. Please email any questions to signaturegymnastics@gmail.com or call (847) 975-3062.
