Kane County Health Department to close Elgin Vax site June 25

The Kane County Health Department recently announced that vaccination clinics at the Elgin Vax site, 1080 E. Chicago St. in Elgin, will end this week.

The Elgin Vax location will be closed permanently, effective Friday, June 25.

"We are so pleased with how the site performed for the community," said KCHD Interim Executive Director Kathy Fosser. "The site hosted 52 clinics since it opened on April 7, with more than 24,000 vaccinations provided."

"Thanks go out to our community partners the City of Elgin, Illinois National Guard, Amita Health Nurses, the Kane County Medical Reserve Corps nurses and volunteers, the Elgin Fire Department volunteers, Elgin Community College Nursing students and instructors, and of course, Kane County Health Department staff," said Fosser. "With the help of these partners, we were able to provide protection against this virus when the demand for vaccine was greatest."
