Girl Scouts team with Home Depot to provide cleaning supply kits

Girl Scout Troop 45139 from St. Emily School in Mount Prospect recently completed a service project for its Bronze Award. The Scouts worked with Home Depot to assemble cleaning supply kits for 100 households.

The Niles West Home Depot applied for, and received, a direct grant in the amount of $5,000 to aid the community with cleaning supplies. .

The Girl Scouts distributed the supply kits to St. Emily parish families at the 7:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, May 16. The Scouts then donated any additional supplies to the WINGS domestic violence shelter for women and children.

This project completes the Scouts Bronze Award before they bridge to Cadette Girl Scouts.
