As the City of Waukegan creeps closer to the launch of a local casino, there are potential consequences once operational. Problem gambling - also called disorderd gambling - affects not just individuals, but family, friends and the coworkers.

Elizabeth Thielen is a counselor at Nicasa Behavioral Health Services (Nicasa.org) in Grayslake. She works with people with gambling addiction. She helps people learn techniques to gamble in a responsible way so that gambling doesn't impact their health, finances, career and loved ones.

At 5 pm on Thursday, June 17th Thielen is hosting a Community Forum at the Genesee Theater to address the topic of Problem Gambling. She will be joined by representatives from the community and State of Illinois Department of Public Health.
