TriCity Health Partnership to open second site, thanks to private donor

TriCity Health Partnership in St. Charles was gifted a new building from a private donor.

Because of this incredible donation, the nonprofit will be expanding their services by converting the property into a dedicated dental facility, while the current location will maintain the medical facility.

"The donors of this building are true angels! To be the recipient of such a generous gift is both overwhelming and inspiring," says Kim Lamansky, executive director. "It has been hard to not shout from the rooftops our gratitude, but they wanted to stay behind the scenes and let our mission speak for them."

Additionally, construction costs were secured through outside grants and donations. The building most recently housed an insurance agency, so transforming it into a dental clinic is a big undertaking. A strong group of community members are volunteering their construction knowledge, so out of pocket costs are minimal.

"When almost 10% of Kane County does not have health insurance, our clinic is vital to the community. Since 2016, patient visits are up by 40%," Lamansky said. "The current small, two-room building just could not keep up with demand. This expansion will provide us the opportunity to meet those needs."

Lamansky continued, "When we first talked of expanding our space, we knew moving to a traditional medical complex was not the right fit for our mission. The donor was thrilled knowing that gifting the building next door would further the social service campus in downtown St. Charles. In less than one block, you will find care for those in need with medical, dental, Lighthouse Recovery and Lazarus House. The donor fell in love with this concept and we are extremely grateful to be included in their vision."

TriCity Health Partnership is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides free medical and dental care to low-income, uninsured residents of Central Kane County. Celebrating 20 years of service, they have provided over 36,000 onsite visits and thousands more with outside medical and dental professionals. Supported by a small staff, over 160 volunteer medical and dental professionals treat those in need at no charge.

Patients never pay for any fees for exams, treatment, lab work, radiology, medications or more. It does not receive federal or state funding but relies on grants, donations and fundraisers to continue to provide care to those in need. Collaborating with Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital offers relief to these ancillary costs while working to keep those in need from unnecessary trips to the emergency room.
