Learn all about native snakes at June 13 nature program

Join in a fun "snake safari" by looking for native snakes at the Dick Young Forest Preserve in Batavia.

First, participants will learn about snake identification, then head out into the field to look for some local examples.

This program will cover snake lifestyles, including what they eat, how they eat and where they hang out. A naturalist will demonstrate different methods used in snake research, and will address some misconceptions people have about these reptiles.

The "Snake Search" will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 13, at Dick Young Forest Preserve. Participants will meet at the Nelson Lake Road entrance, located at 2S326 Nelson Lake Road, Batavia.
