Fox Valley Habitat to host family game night fundraiser June 5

Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity will hold a virtual Kahoot! trivia family game night fundraiser from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 5, on Zoom.

The public is invited. Proceeds will benefit the Cristal Lopez family home at 654 Spruce St. in Aurora, Habitat's 2021 Faith Build by area faith communities.

Funds raised will go towards building supplies for the Lopez home and all proceeds will be matched by Thrivent Financial Services of Oswego.

There will be 10 rounds of Kahoot, with a winner for each round. Winners will earn a prize worth $25. At the end of the 10 rounds the three players with the highest scores will win a prize for first, second and third places.

Trivia categories include 1980s music and movies, U.S. geography, national calendar days, logos, Disney movies, celebrities, Fox Valley Habitat Faith Build and other Habitat categories.

Sponsors are Walmart, Edward Jones, Target, Dorjath Law Center, Brookfield Zoo, Habitat ReStore West Aurora, Heidi's Cake and Pastry, Starbuck's, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, Batavia Chamber of Commerce and Thrivent Financial Services.

Founded in 1988, Fox Valley Habitat is a nondenominational Christian housing ministry based at Genesis Community Church in Montgomery. In addition to church offices, Habitat maintains a warehouse at 250 S. Highland Ave. in Aurora. Fox Valley Habitat is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an international Christian housing ministry.

Since its inception, Habitat has partnered with 69 families in Aurora, North Aurora and Montgomery to build or upgrade affordable shelter.
