Lisle VFW Post 5696 to hold Memorial Day ceremony, silent convoy May 31

On Monday, May 31, the Lisle Veterans of Foreign Wars Ross Bishop Memorial Post 5696 will host the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony and Silent Convoy to honor those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

The remembrance ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the Lisle Veterans Memorial at the south east corner of School and Center streets.

It will be streamed live. Those seeking to view the ceremony online should sign up at www.villageoflisle.org. Once registered, participants will receive a Zoom link to watch the ceremony.

The silent convoy will start at noon from Kennedy Junior High School, 2929 Green Trails Drive, in the Green Trails neighborhood, and wind its way through the village ending on Warrenville Road near the Sheraton Hotel.

This is a somber parade. There is no candy throwing, horns or sirens.
