Illinois American Water Completes Water Tank Improvement in Bolingbrook

Illinois American Water is finishing improvements to a water tank located near the cross streets of King Drive and 115th street in Bolingbrook as part of a statewide effort to upgrade water storage units in Illinois. Last year, water tanks across the state including in communities such as Champaign, Pontiac, Peoria and Shiloh received face lifts, totaling an investment of approximately $3.7 million.

The Bolingbrook tank is a 3,000,000-gallon ground storage tank and the work is expected to be completed next week. The investment included an overcoating on the outside of the storage tank and spot welding and coating on the interior floor. New logos were also added to the exterior of the tank. The total investment is approximately $463,000.

According to Kevin Hillen, Senior Operations Manager of the Northern Division, the water tank investment is important to extending the lifespan of the company's infrastructure. "We're proud to be a part of the communities we serve, and the tanks not only serve as landmarks for residents and visitors, but support water service for homes, businesses and fire protection."
