Batavia High School to put on 'The Theory of Relativity'

Batavia High School will present "The Theory of Relativity," a spring musical that is a celebration of the wonders of growing.

This full production movie is brought to you by the talented drama department at Batavia High School and Director Dominic A. Cattero. It was filmed following all social precautions. Through the magic of movie making, everyone is brought together. The show will be streamed at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, April 16 and 23. Tickets will be available at bataviafineartscentre.org.

"I put before you a theory, one which tackles the first steps into adulthood and carries with it all the wonder, awe, confusion, and terror that a single step entails. These ubiquitous first steps have been taken by others before and will be taken by even more in the future, and throughout the journey of these young people, we begin to understand that we are linked across time and space to one another through our common human experiences. It may even appear as though this connectedness is at random, and so it might be, but connect us it does," said Dominic A Cattero.

The cast includes: Abe Alley, Rachel Blahnik, TJ Borre, Lorelai Burke, Ella Canniff, Gemma Cohen, Ally Cooper, Josiah Daneels, Ashlyn Garrity, Grant Hibbeler, Thomas Hougen, Maddie Hotham, Will Lambert, Tatjana Litow, Ava Little, Lily Mamminga, Violet McCann, Desert Mcgarr, Erin McLaughlin, Matthew Mefford, Emma Myers, Chloe Nelson, Clara Patterson, Matthew Siekierski, Anika Thoresen, and Zoe Weeks.

The artistic director is Dominic A. Cattero; technical director Joseph Andersen; lighting director Jason Jakubaitis; assistant director Allison McPeak; stage manager Lauren Zeilstra; assistant stage manager Gabrielle Samii; dance captain, Lorelai Burke, and crew Ben Budke.

The music and lyrics are by Neil Bartram, and the book is by Brian Hill.
