For National Poetry Month, Aurora Downtown puts out call for poetry
In honor of National Poetry Month this April, Aurora Downtown and Aurora Poet Laureate Karen Fullett-Christensen are hosting a call for poems. The theme for the poems should be "Awakenings."
Selected poems will be displayed in various downtown storefronts throughout April. This call is open to any writer currently residing in the Fox Valley region.
Original poems no more than 20 lines in length should be submitted by March 1 to kfc16@sbcglobal.net.

Each poet may submit one original poem. The poem's theme should be "Awakenings."
Your submission may have been previously published, so long as you retain the copyright.
Your poem should be no more than 20 lines in length, including the space between stanzas.
The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Monday, March 1, with no exceptions.
Submit your poem as a Microsoft Word document, attached in an email to kfc16@sbcglobal.net. Do not put your name on the Microsoft Word document. Include your name, current U.S. Postal Service mailing address, phone number, and email address in the email.
The poems will be reviewed by a jury for display at a variety of locations in downtown Aurora. The authors, who retain the rights to their works and receive no financial compensation, will be acknowledged in publicity and media releases.
