Elana Woldenberg announced as senior director of product development for Hand2Mind

Woldenberg continues to lead the product development team in their quest to create innovative, hands-on learning tools and supplemental curriculum products

VERNON HILLS, IL (February 16, 2021) - hand2mind, an award-winning educational resource company, today announced the promotion of Elana Woldenberg to Senior Director of Product Development. Along with leading the editorial department, Woldenberg is responsible for developing new products and initiatives to expand the company's range of toys, manipulatives and other resources for subjects like math, literacy and STEM.

"Promoting from within is a very important aspect of our performance-based culture. It demonstrates that there is growth potential here and it represents just how much we value each and every employee's contributions," said Sybil Worden, Senior Director of Human Resources at hand2mind. "It's been rewarding to watch individuals, like Elana, step into a new role. As Senior Director of Product Development, she'll continue to offer her creative insights and leadership skills as a key member of our executive team."

Woldenberg has been a driving force behind an expansion of the product development effort since joining the company in May of 2018. She is responsible for leading the team that developed the successful teach@home initiative - a series of free, online K-5th grade lessons to assist teachers and families during pandemic school closures. She also led the team that created and launched several award-winning new products in 2020 including the NumberLineTM Clock, Sensory Fidget Tubes and the Squishy Water Beads Science Lab. In her new role, Elana will continue to manage product development and publishing efforts, as well as hand2mind's continued expansion into the educational toy market.

"It's a privilege working closely with the whole team at hand2mind and contributing to the development of high-quality, hands-on resources that support teachers and students," said Woldenberg. "It's exciting coming to work every day knowing I have an opportunity to help students learn new skills that will allow them to confidently take on the future."

Woldenberg embodies the mission of hand2mind, even in her spare time. She has been a tutor with Tutoring Chicago since 2017, and a member of the Associate Board for Best Buddies since 2018, an organization she has been involved with since 2012. Woldenberg graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Her passion for the education field was sparked during her time at Princeton, where she wrote an award-winning thesis entitled: "An Evaluation of the Effectiveness of a Novel Robotics Curriculum in Elementary School Education."
