OTTO Engineering strengthens partnership with Judson University

Judson University in Elgin recently announced that OTTO Engineering Inc. is extending its support through a five-year commitment and deepening its partnership with the university by creating the Roeser Scholars program that will provide scholarships and special programming for Judson's top academic students.

OTTO Engineering designs, develops, and manufactures control products and communication accessories in Carpentersville, Ill.

OTTO's investment in Judson's highest academic scholarship program continues to energize the current program that offers leadership training and financial aid to scholar and honor students based on academic merit, leadership qualities and financial need.

Enhancements to the Roeser Scholars program include developing a deeper understanding of the foundational principles of the democratic system of government, capitalism, and personal values.

Roeser Scholars will have two tracks of eligibility - Leadership and Academic.

In each track, the students will study these three perspectives as well as participate in specific programming to broaden their knowledge base and appreciation.

Students accepted into the Leadership track will be selected based on three criteria: leadership acumen and participation, intellectual curiosity, and character.

Students selected for the Academic track will be chosen based on academic excellence, community service, and character. Approximately 50 students annually will participate in the program.

Roeser Scholars will receive additional learning experiences throughout the year at the following university events: Constitution Day, the World Leaders Forum, the DASH retreat for first, second, and third-year cohorts as well as a culminating senior Scholar experience.

"The philanthropic investment of Tom Roeser and OTTO Engineering, Inc. makes a significant impact in shaping the lives and perspectives of Judson students who will go out and shape the world," says Dr. Gene Crume, President of Judson University. "We are fortunate and blessed to have the support of such a trusted community business leader who knows the lasting value of establishing this partnership."
