Have your family or local business decorate a "parade float" for the parade

Submitted by Palatine Park District

Palatine Park District invites families to create "mini-floats" and partake in a We Love A Parade event this February. Design, decorate, and build your float that will be showcased in a communitywide virtual parade.

The virtual parade will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13. "Love" is the theme for the 2021 Virtual We Love A Parade event.

To participate and be featured in the parade video, decorate a "mini" float with a shoe box, tissue box, empty milk carton or whatever you can think of as long as it is no larger than a shoe box. Once the floats are all collected, we will put together a video of the event for everyone to watch. For anyone who has ever wanted to design and decorate your own parade float, here is your chance.

Register via the Palatine Park District website by noon on Friday, Jan. 22, and drop off your float at the Community Center, 250 E. Wood St. For more guidelines and detailed information go to palatineparks.org.

For more information about We Love A Parade, contact Special Interest Coordinator Lisa Schroeder at (847) 496-6347 or lschroeder@palatineparks.org.

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable and affordable parks, programs and recreational facilities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors while being fiscally responsible stewards of community assets and tax dollars.
