MCC offers tool to help students schedule classes

McHenry County College is taking the complication out of creating a class schedule. The college recently launched a Simple Scheduling tool that can help students create their perfect schedule in just a few clicks.

"Students are managing more than ever right now," said Jim Disrude, director of academic advising at MCC.

"On top of balancing work, school, and family, they're trying to adjust to virtual learning as well. With this tool, we wanted to remove any barriers to entry so our students knew how to easily get started with classes. We've had several students reach out to thank us specifically for this resource and let us know the impact it has made in their ability to continue their education."

Once students have submitted their application to the college, they can access the Simple Scheduling tool at www.mchenry.edu/simple. There, they will answer a few basic questions about their goals, time preferences, and learning style, and one of the college's scheduling experts will send them a completely customized schedule.

At that point, they can make any changes or simply select "Enroll" to start classes in Spring 2021.

If students are looking for further assistance, they can also meet virtually or in-person with MCC's staff to explore financing options, learn about transferring college credits, and more.

Spring classes start Tuesday, Jan. 19. MCC plans on bringing back their five flexible formats of class delivery in the spring, offering in-person classes, online courses, or a blend of both. To learn more about spring scheduling, visit www.mchenry.edu/spring2021.
