The Little Popcorn Store in Wheaton celebrates its 100th anniversary

The Little Popcorn Store at 111¼ W. Front St. in Wheaton is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a kickoff event on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

For National Popcorn Day, the first 100 people to visit the store will receive a free small bag of popcorn.

Additional events are planned throughout the year, including a monthly drawing.

Commemorative merchandise, including a holiday ornament, popcorn tins, posters, postcards, and T-shirts are available for purchase in the store.

A cherished landmark in the heart of downtown Wheaton, The Little Popcorn Store is perhaps one of the most loved and narrowest stores in the Chicago area measuring 49 inches wide by 60 feet long.

The Little Popcorn Store is open for both in-store and curbside pickup.

Regular hours are: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

A maximum of four customers are allowed in the store at one time. Face masks are required
