Filing Dates for Wheeling Park District Park Commissioner

WHEELING, IL, 12/09/2020 ~ Completed Petitions of Nomination and Statement of Candidacy forms for the office of Park Commissioner will be accepted by Board Secretary Jan Buchs (or her designee) at the Wheeling Park District Community Recreation Center, 100 Community Blvd., Wheeling, Illinois, from Monday, December 14, 2020, through Friday, December 18, 2020, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and on Monday, December 21, 2020, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Although the facility is not open to the public at this time, staff will be onsite to accept filing petitions. To drop off a petition on the designated dates, please come to the main doors of the Community Recreation Center between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Call the number listed on the sign posted on the door. A staff member will allow you entrance. Masks are required.

The names of candidates will appear on the ballot in order of the date and time of filing of the completed required forms. Four candidates to serve 4-year terms will be selected through the public voting process during the Consolidated Election to be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

An individual who has resided in the Wheeling Park District for at least one year prior to the election, and is a registered voter in the District, who is not in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the Park District, and has not been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony, is eligible to hold the office of Commissioner of the Wheeling Park District.
