McHenry County College to recognize summer and fall 2020 graduates in virtual commencement ceremony
McHenry County College will recognize 172 summer and 362 fall 2020 graduates at its virtual commencement ceremony, which will be made available at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. Those who wish to view the prerecorded virtual ceremony can do so at www.mchenry.edu/graduation.
Of this group of graduates, more than 100 earned honors or high honors with a GPA of 3.50 or greater. The students represent nearly 45 different programs, with Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Basic Nursing Assistant Certificate, Occupational Therapy Assistant AAS, and Physical Therapist Assistant AAS programs producing the most graduates. The first group to complete the College's Hospitality Marketing certificate will also graduate this Saturday.
"In this time of remote connection, it's especially important to let our students know how proud of them we all are," said Dr. Chris Gray, vice president of academic affairs and workforce development. "This year has been challenging for all of us, but our students have risen to the challenge and remained flexible, resilient, and committed to accomplishing their goals."
"I couldn't be prouder to call these students graduates of MCC," added MCC President Dr. Clint Gabbard. "The strength and resourcefulness they've shown -- both during this time and throughout their studies -- shows they're ready to go out into the world and use their education to make a positive impact in our community."
The ceremony will include remarks from Gabbard, several student testimonials, an overview of honors designations, and the presentation of degrees and certificates.
