Happy Thanksgiving GLMV!

While it's certainly been a year to swivel, GLMV Chamber of Commerce members continue to make a huge impact as business community leaders. As the largest local business organization, GLMV is thankful throughout it all for the opportunity to provide excellent advocacy, networking, marketing, promotional, leadership, community involvement, referrals and support to member businesses and groups of all types and sizes.

"Chamber members are the voice of business," said GLMV Chair Karen Kay Lavris. "And, we are proud of participation in GLMV community based programs during the pandemic. For example, the GLMV Helping Heroes Fundraiser provided 1,500+ meals to our heroes and first responders, while supporting our member restaurants, thanks to so many generous community donations.

Through the recent GLMV Coat for Vets, nearly 1,000 coats and outerwear were donated via our 20+ awesome businesses and municipalities who served as collection sites. We thank our Program Sponsor T-Mobile, Shurway Movers, our Villages, Municipalities, participating businesses, and all for the numerous donations to make these programs a success.

In addition, GLMV programs, whether hybrid, in-person or virtual, offer unique forums to build exposure, stay updated on the latest news affecting the business community, and make new contacts. Members have now expertly mastered Zoom, Breakout Room networking, deliver top notch presentations, innovate, learn and grow through the various events and groups, including Legislative Updates, Business Roundtables, C4S Network Group, Mixers, and more. We dine al fresco while social distancing in tents and igloos, sample new cuisines and eateries, while we pivot and adapt to today's marketplace.

What's more, GLMV emphasizes the importance of shopping local to boost business, create jobs, a dynamic economy, and growth for all. "Our members continually energize our Chamber, and ensure we remain a strong component of the business community," said Lavris.

New members are always welcome, and the ideal path to growing the Chamber. What business do you know that would benefit from the visibility and networking the Chamber offers? We are always looking to meet new business owners who want to get involved. Once they feel the energy of the Chamber, they will be grateful to you for introducing them. Invite a guest to our events or contact us with a name and we will be happy to reach out to them. It's a win-win for all!

Most importantly, remember to shop local and your fellow Chamber members for all your holiday items. Many are offering excellent Black Friday and Holiday Season Promotions. All our members are listed in the Business Directory on our website, or contact us should you need a referral to a business.

With much resilience, we are getting through this challenging time together. "Your amazing support, hospitality, friendship and opportunity to service your business is much appreciated," said Lavris.
