ECC recognized with 25 Medallion awards from National Council on Marketing and Public Relations

The Elgin Community College Marketing and Communications Department received 25 awards at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 3 Medallion Awards.

The council is an organization that connects marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges and supports their professional growth.

The Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication in each of NCMPR's seven districts. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

ECC was recognized in categories including video, photography, digital images, poster/flyers, writing, social media, and crisis communications. The awards include eight golds, ten silver, and seven bronze medals, with ECC taking multiple awards in several categories.

"This recognition from our peers at NCMPR is a testament to the exceptional talent that flourishes at Elgin Community College," said Toya Webb, EdD, chief marketing and communications officer. "I am honored to lead and work alongside such a phenomenal team. Even in the midst of a pandemic resulting in increased workloads and competing priorities, their commitment to telling the college's story with creative excellence is evident."

The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR has more than 1,700 members from nearly 650 colleges across the United States and Canada.
