Sign up 'Little Saplings' for nature hikes and storytime

Registration is now open for the next session of "Little Saplings," a fun nature program series for children ages 3 to 5, presented by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.

Little Saplings hourlong programs include a combination of stories, nature hikes, songs, games and crafts.

The program takes place at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles. A parent or caregiver must accompany the child.

Upcoming dates for "Little Saplings" include:

• Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with the theme, "Beavers and Bark."

• Thursday, March 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with the theme, "Mighty Oaks and Marvelous Maples."

• Thursday, April 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with the theme, "Wiggly and Wacky Worms."

• Thursday, May 20, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with the theme, "Birds of a Feather."

The fee is $5 per child, per session, and advance registration is required. To register, call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com.

Creek Bend Nature Center is located within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve at 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles.
