Literacy Volunteers tutor training starts Oct. 13

If you want to help an adult learn English, you will want to attend Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley's free tutor training workshop.

It will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 13, 15, 20, and 22, at Pottawatomie Community Center, 8 North Ave. in St. Charles.

The workshop will be limited to six participants to allow for social distancing.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley helps adults communicate in English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors who provide lessons once each week. You can teach online or in person.

If you know English, you can teach English to an adult who is waiting to learn. The program provides material and instruction so anyone can be a volunteer tutor. If you have one hour each week, we can fit tutoring into your schedule.

Volunteer tutors are making a very real difference in the lives of adults who want to learn English.
