Hooters employees at Oak Lawn and Wells Street locations assemble school supply kits for kids in need

Hooters of Oak Lawn and Hooters on Wells Street partnered with Back 2 School Illinois to create 100 school supply kits for children from low-income families.

Thirteen Hooters employees including managers, Hooters Girls and kitchen staff as well as executives from both marketing and operations put together the school supply kits on September 2 at the Hooters on Wells Street. Each kit contains approximately 30 supplies and will be distributed to Chicagoland kids in all grades.

"We wanted to make an impact and help children in Illinois with the core supplies that they need to succeed as they start the new school year," said Denise Williams, Hooters Management Corporation Chief Marketing Officer. The restaurant took precautions in respect to COVID as masks were worn and workspaces were sanitized before and after the kits were made.

"It took no time at all for the Hooters volunteers to jump into action and begin assembling kits and writing "Notes of Inspiration". Their excited staff volunteer members working together with Chicagoland Marketing Manager Allie Golden as their leader, made the work seamless and enjoyable. Back 2 School Illinois can't wait for the next time we can work together with Hooters. Thank you Hooters for your philanthropic spirit, it was such a joy to work with you," said Steven Sartin, Back 2 School Illinois Associate Director.
