Local Orthodontist Donates Over 1,000 Masks to Area Schools

Dr. Nakfoor of Nak4 Orthdontics (Arlington Heights and Park Ridge) dropped off 650 masks to St. Paul of the Cross in Park Ridge and 450 to St. James in Arlington Heights, enough to outfit every student and teacher returning for in-person instruction this week.

"A lot of these kids I have known since they were babies. They have brothers and sisters I've treated. I know their parents and their favorite sports teams. They are family to me. I want to do my part to make sure they're safe when they go back to school," Nakfoor said.

With 5-7 clean masks required per week per student for most classes, it's an added expense for families that have been hit hard by the pandemic. Especially for those with multiple school-aged kids.

"If students will need that amount of masks for the entire school year, it becomes a significant expense for parents at a time when job security is uncertain. It's important to me to support the community and families I've built my practice around," Nakfoor said.

The administrations at both schools graciously accepted the donation, having worked tirelessly to develop safe re-opening plans over the last several months.

Dr. Nakfoor has been practicing orthodontics in the northwest suburbs of Chicago for over a decade. He has been recognized by Invisalign as a Diamond+ Provider, ranking in the top 1% of all Invisalign providers.
