Some of Chicago's most beloved bands are once again taking the stage this weekend as part of an ongoing carpool concert series that reconnects fans with music performances and offers a safe alternative to standing in a packed crowd.

"Live from the Lot," a new concept by Duff Entertainment and presented by 101 WKQX and 94.7 WLS, re-imagines the live music experience during a time of social distancing by replacing the drive-in movie super-screen with a grandstand stage, stellar acoustics, and big-time acts.

Three names synonymous with Chicago rock lore -- Local H, Hairbanger's Ball and Smells Like Nirvana -- will light up Schaumburg Boomers Stadium with the same outdoor summer electricity everyone is craving.

Limited tickets, including VIP rows, are still available for each show through TicketWeb One ticket is required per car, and there is a limit of six people per vehicle. Tickets start at $50 for this all-ages show.

Following a successful inaugural event earlier this summer, "Live from the Lot" has upped the ante and will return this time with heavy hitters in the lineup.

Kicking things off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, will be Nirvana tribute Smells Like Nirvana, followed by '80s glam metal cover band Hairbanger's Ball at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Capping off the weekend will be back-to-back shows at 5 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, by Chicago alt-rock duo Local H.

Schaumburg Boomers' west parking lot provides plenty of room for guests to mingle and dance outside of their car in their own socially distant party zone. Live from the Lot artists perform full sets with behemoth LED screens and speakers throughout the blacktop so anyone can enjoy the show from any location on the lot. Food and beverages, including alcohol, will be available for purchase.

Safety is the producers' top priority. Concertgoers are invited to enjoy the show inside their car or outside in their own private area -- a 10-foot zoned space left to their vehicle. On-site protocols include:

• All guests must have a mask and will be required to wear it when going to restroom or concessions.

• Each parking space will have 12 feet between cars allowing for social distancing protocols outside the car.

• Restrooms and concessions will be controlled with social distancing protocols.

• Performances will be 75 minutes.

• All tickets will be sold in advance through TicketWeb. No on-site sales or will-call will be available.

• Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. No grilling or cooking is permitted.
